The Parables

Mark 4:30-33 – The Parable of the Mustard Seed

30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

33 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.

Jesus talked about the Kingdom of Heaven, everyone who comes into the kingdom of heaven will grow into a beautiful big person. If you believe in Jesus every little thing will become bigger thing if you have hope.

Matthew 13:47-48 – The Parable of the Net

47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.

Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is like a net, when it is full they keep the good people and get rid of the bad. They have faith and hope who act promising and they discard the people who don’t have hope or believe in what is right.

Luke 15:1-7 – The Parable of the Lost Sheep

1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Jesus explains that the kingdom of heaven always had hope in their followers, if one strays from the kingdom, Jesus will make an effort to find you and everyone will be happy. The most important thing is when a sinner changes his ways, when someone changes their behaviour they will always be important.
